TFL Review Summary

This shotgun is a workhorse that has so much to like. We not only have reviewed the Winchester SX4 but have shot 10's of thousands of rounds through it over the years. The SX4 is one of the lightest recoiling shotguns. It has decent controls and it is extremely reliable. The only nock we have on the SX4 is the fact that it does not have shims to adjust the drop and cast to better-fit shooters.

Manufacturer Summary

The SX4 Field is a step forward from the fastest shotgun in the world: The original SX4. At the top of the list is the walnut stock and forearm the offers a traditional feel with modern styling. The SX4 features improved ergonomics designed to give you a "quick to the shoulder" feel that will prove itself on quick rising birds like pheasants and quail, and with equal measure on passing waterfowl. The larger operating controls (safety, bolt release, bolt handle) make operation easy and fast. The matte received keeps glare away - a good feature for a field gun no matter what the game.

The SX4 is so fast and easy to shoot you won't be afraid to make this good looking model, with its walnut stock and engraved receiver your go-to shotgun for everything from upland to the marsh to the range.
