TFL Review Summary

The Weatherby Sorix is a head-turning inertia-operated semi-auto designed for hunters who appreciate both performance and aesthetics. Manufactured in Italy and finished in Sheridan, Wyoming, the Sorix features a sleek Cerakote sponge-painted finish, modern ergonomics, and thoughtful design touches like an ambidextrous safety and swappable bolt handle. It comes chambered in 12 or 20 gauge with a 28" barrel and includes five Crio Plus-style chokes and shims for basic fit adjustment.

While the Sorix delivers a satisfying shooting experience with heavier hunting loads, our testing revealed reliability issues with light target loads in the 20-gauge model — a common challenge with sub-gauge inertia guns. If you’re looking for a dedicated field gun that looks as good as it performs with magnum shells, the Sorix is a strong contender.
