The Perazzi MX28 is a bespoke Italian 28-gauge over/under built on Perazzi’s scaled MX action and designed for upland hunting. Our test gun featured 30-inch barrels and weighed 6 lbs 12 oz, with excellent fit and finish throughout. The lockup is solid and precise, and the overall build quality reflects the brand’s reputation for long-term durability and serviceability.

On the range and in the quail field at Covey Rise, the MX28 felt lively with a slightly forward balance that produced a smooth, controlled swing. It carries easily and mounts quickly, though the lighter weight rewards disciplined hands. Reliability was flawless during our testing. For shooters who value craftsmanship, balance, and a true custom fit, the MX28 offers a refined and capable upland experience.
